REASONING
I crafted this website on account of I adore Duo for what he is,
flawed. I evaluate him as a beautiful tragic soul. He has a
labyrinthine, complicated personality, and I believe it is difficult to
understand him. I empathize with him, and am utterly enamored with
him. As well, I wanted this website to help other fans in a sense
learn more about Duo, and put a creative spin on it, in addition to
providing a large amount of in-depth information on Duo and who
he really is.
I conjecture I did not build a website in Duo's honor sooner,
because constructing a site is quite an ominous, foreboding task.
However, when your existence is trivial it makes things much
simpler. It took me the lapse of three weeks to set up, but over
the course of time I wish to add more images, information, and
wallpaper. The name of the website itself was borrowed from an Alice
Cooper song.
Originally, I was introduced to Gundam Wing by a close friend of
mine, and it rapidly became one of my most favored animes, and
almost as quickly, Duo Maxwell became one of my most treasured
anime characters. Though it was not until a year ago I really
became immersed in his character, as I became a part of a Gundam
Wing role play blog ring.
It was imperative to analyze, and in a
sense, disremember my own character, and take on his. I fervently
tried to do so, and portray Duo to the best of my ability, and convey
his persona as I saw him, and how I truly thought he would act and
behave. I still do not believe I did such an excellent job at it, but
I do think I gained an even more keen appreciation for him.
It is also my opinion that Gundam Wing is sorely a victim of fan rape.
I have been exposed to many, horrendously written fanfictions, and I
feel Duo is often demeaned and falsely represented. Not to say in my
day I have not composed a slew of wretched fanfictions myself, but I
feel the character of Duo Maxwell is usually not perceived as the
complex individual he truly is. So in some way, this is my makeshift,
shoddy salute to Duo, expressing my adulation, respect, and esteem
for him. All in all, I did my best.
